When pigs escape, you’ll usually find them in a wood! That's why we raise our hogs in and amongst the trees. It is the perfect natural environment for them; offering shelter, protection and a great host of delicious fruit and nuts throughout the year. Our pigs, which are native-bred breeds, graze on all kinds of green plants and shrubs, chestnuts, hazelnuts, acorns, cherries, apples as well as spent brewer’s grain and waste bread from our local breweries and bakeries.

We also move the pigs regularly to mimic nature. Contrary to popular belief, pigs are very clean animals and love nothing more than a new bramble patch to work through. Their disturbance allows different seeds to germinate and prevents blanket species from dominating the forest floor; thus increasing biodiversity.

Our traditional pork sausages are made using the best cuts and you can taste the difference. Our streaky and back bacon is dry cured and available with rind on or off. The taste of the forest is evident in the richer flavour and deeper colour.
